At its 25th annual flagship user conference, Autodesk University, Autodesk, Inc. previewed its next generation BIM 360 platform, a seamless cloud service connecting the entire construction project lifecycle.

Autodesk invested in Smartvid.io, which makes software that can automatically detect what's in construction-site photos and videos, allowing quick searches such as for workers who aren't wearing hard hats or safety vests. The screenshot shows how the software identified two people in a photo from a Stiles Construction job site and loaded into Procore's building-information management, or BIM, software. (SMARTVID.IO)
