Estate Management are looking to recruit a CAD Technician to join the Business Improvement Group CAD Team. The function of the role will be to manage and maintain the University Estate CAD drawings for key elements of building information whilst ensuring adherence to the CAD standards and accuracy of the MICAD space database.
The role holder will be required to maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of 'as built' CAD drawings for the University's estate, including site plans, floor plans, elevations, roof plans, drainage plans and fire safety information. They will also have responsibility for managing and producing digital OS based site plans and drawings for property management and planning purposes as well as surveying buildings to review structural changes and usage. The role holder will also be expected to work with University's BIM (Building Information Modelling) protocols and associated technologies.
The successful candidate will have an excellent working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD/Revit. Knowledge of the MICAD space management system would be an advantage. An Architectural (HND/HNC) or relevant building industry qualification and/or relevant experience would be beneficial.
With strong organisation skills the successful applicant will need to be accurate and analytical in their approach to work. Confidence in communicating with a wide range of people and the ability to proactively solve problems are essential to the success of the position.
