Brazilian manufacturer Incepa, part of Roca Group, started publishing their products in the BIMobject® Cloud in August 2017. Incepa, located in Paraná, is one of the oldest companies in Brazil providing complete solutions for coating ceramic, with coordinated products for walls and floors. We had a chat with Christie Silva Schulka, Marketing Manager at Incepa, to see how things are going.
What made you decide to turn your products into BIM objects?
In this increasingly competitive world of ours, businesses are competing all the time for people’s attention and time, which is making us increasingly protective of both. If you’re a company who wants to connect with people rather than alienate them, it’s important to keep this in mind. You need to make your communication with architects and construction industries effective, to save everyone's time. Today, BIM is the way professionals and big construction companies are communicating with each other. We wanted to be a part of that dialogue, so turning our products in to BIM objects was the logical way to go.
What is you experience with BIMobject so far?
The most fundamental shift for us has been to change the way our information is distributed. Through BIMobject, we can now distribute our data in the format that the construction industry is demanding. We are able to control versions, and to understand how the information is being used by architects. We get an insight into the minds of architects, designers and construction companies, and we get to know their preferences from the very early design phase. For us, this is fundamental not only from the sales perspective, but also for product development, marketing and even pricing

What has been the response among your clients?
The response is super positive. It's apparent to us that our decision was made with perfect timing. BIM is right now being demanded in Brazil for several construction types like hotels, hospitals and malls. In the near future it will be demanded by the government. For us this has been a very important shift. Good communication is the key.
Has your presence at bimobject.com generated any leads or useful contacts?
Yes! We use the BI tool to recognize who the users are, and to see what products they are looking for. We also use the BIMobject® tools to contact them and to work this database to promote sales and solutions. Our presence at BIMobject ensures a close relationship with the professionals that use our products, and is at the same time helping us get feedback from the market, something that will help us in new product development. Through BIMobject we stay in contact with BIM professionals 24/7/365. We are able to reach BIM professionals all the time, right when they are in the process of designing and looking for information.

What is your advice to companies who are at the beginning of their digital journey, and who might feel hesitant?
BIM is the future. As AutoCAD once changed the process, BIM will change it too. You can be part of the group who drives this change and sees the opportunity!
