BIFM CALLS FOR MEMBERS’ VIEWS ON BIM SPEC

The British Standards Institute (BSI) is carrying out a review of PAS 1192-3:2014 Specification for information management for the operational life cycle of assets using BIM.

The document is set out to support BIM Level 2 in the delivery phase of projects, addressing the operational phase of assets, transferring data whether through a new or existing portfolio of assets.

The initial PAS 1192-3 was produced in 2014 and, along with PAS 1192-2, is being reviewed for reissue in May 2017.

Peter Brogan, research and information manager at BIFM, said: “BIFM is actively providing information to our members to help them understand the BIM process and work with the data. This includes the BIFM operational readiness guide, which helps provide guidance on the activities the FM should consider when preparing to take over a new or refurbished building.

The draft document is available to download here. Email [email protected] for more information on responding to the consultation. The deadline for responses is 23 January.
