Flexiform Business Furniture is pleased to announce the launch of their new BIM (Building Information Model) library. All our components have been modelled natively in Revit, and they are parametric, small in size, yet detailed enough to produce effective renderings!
Did you know that UK Government has set a deadline for all Public Sector projects to be drawn using collaborative 3D BIM technology by 2016?
You may be familiar with the term “BIM Store” this is the Building Information Model system – a new way for architects to model buildings using CAD blocks and software packages – (such as Revit). A BIM cad block is a full 3 dimensional representation of a product, not only an accurate visual representation, but the block can contain various technical data such as materials and product life cycles. A 3d block of this detail is often used for space planning and generating 3d Visuals.
The UK Government will make using the BIM modelling method compulsorily in 2016 and could potentially become a qualifying condition of the CCS process. Our space planner Justyna Teale has drawn 100’s of these models over the past few months making Flexiform the only furniture manufacturer with all product blocks now meeting this Government criteria.
