The latest listing, published in February 2015, shows Causeway at 40th position in the top 100 privately owned technology companies in the south of England. Causeway has consistently been one of the top 40 technology companies since the scheme was launched in 2012.
In order to qualify for the Southern Tech 100, companies have to be independent and privately owned, and headquartered in the southern region.
The new Southern Tech 100, published last month, is a £6 billion array of diverse businesses from innovative pathfinders to ’box shifters’
For the fifth year running, overall turnover has risen and now stands at £6.1 billion, up from £5.8b last year. Employee numbers have risen slightly, to about 18,600.
Cloud companies are making their way up the chart – from Pulsant to Cloud Distribution and from C4L to Cobweb Solutions.
Analysts believe 3D printing, the ’Internet of Things’ and drones will be the buzz developments of 2015.
It remains to be seen whether any companies working in these fields will make their mark in the Tech 100. But there is no doubt that as technology requirements among businesses shifts from hardware to software and remote services, more change will come.
