The BIM programme, curated by the NBS, is a must see for manufacturers, including seminars such as ‘BIM and the manufacturer – what does this mean for me?’ and ‘How to use the BIM object standard to make your own BIM objects’.
Masterclasses on the BIM programme will be led by technical experts, such as Dale Sinclair, Director of Technical Practice at AECOM and Mark Bew, Chairman of HM Government’s BIM Task Group. RIBA Enterprises’ CEO Richard Waterhouse will be speaking about BIM beyond 2016 and focusing on the industry’s next steps to becoming BIM ready.
The team behind the NBS National BIM Library (NBL), the UK’s fastest growing BIM library and primary source of free-to-use, platform neutral BIM objects in the UK, will be offering expert advice to manufacturers, including the first opportunity to hear about the exciting plans the NBL has for the coming year.
There will also be an exclusive preview at Ecobuild of the new ‘pioneering’ service offered by the NBL, with which they aim to grow their library to include over 500 manufacturers by the end of 2015 – this is your chance to be amongst the first to see the service first hand!
BIM Digital Toolkit
The piece de resistance of the NBS masterclasses is of course the much talked about BIM Toolkit. Ahead of the Government’s 2016 mandate for all public sectors, centrally procured construction projects, NBS is developing a free and simple web toolkit which will guide users through the construction process – The BIM Toolkit.
At Ecobuild 2015, attendees will be given an early opportunity to preview the project which will create a new unified classification system and digital plan of work that will complete Level 2 BIM. You can experience a complete overview of the project and are encouraged to provide feedback; there will be live demonstrations, as well as seminars with David Philip, head of BIM Implementation at the Cabinet Office, and Stephen Hamil, Head of BIM at NBS.
